Not There Yet

Not There Yet ยท Eric Hutchinson

As the song says, ‘I’ve come a long way, but I’m not there yet.”

About a year ago, I thought I was there.  I saw this very pretty crop sweater at Eloquii and thought, “Yep, that’s me, I’m ready to wear a crop ALL day long.”  Except that when I got it, I’d put it on and my mind would scream – no, no, no!

So, I took the sweater off and put it in the back of my closet.  From time to time, I’d pull it out and try again.  Still no!

Then one day, I was back at Eloquii and saw this very pretty pleated top.  I sort of wondered if I could use it to layer the sweater.  It took a few days, but I finally ordered it.  After the top came, I tried it with the sweater.  The little voice inside my head wasn’t screaming no, no, no anymore, but neither of us knew what to make of this look, so it hung in the front of my closet for a bit.

The other day, it was one of those Spring mornings where it was too chilly for a cute Spring dress, but it was definitely too warm for anything too heavy.  I thought about the crop sweater and decided that it was finally the day to wear it.  I’m actually pretty pleased with how it worked out.  As for wearing the crop sweater on its own?  Yeah, still not there yet.

One thing to note about the blouse is that it has a stiff collar with a daisy pattern.  It is very pretty and delicate, but I do not recommend this particular top if you have any issues with clothing around your neck.  Also, the blouse is short sleeves.

Hope all of you are off to a good start to your Easter week.

Thanks for stopping by!
