Life in the Fat Lane – My Plus Size Journey

From this (Alfred Dunner-current collection here)….

These two pictures were taken about 10 years apart.  I’m younger in the first one, but feel younger in the second.  For many years, I made do with what was available for plus-size woman – shapeless clothes that hid all the flaws.   Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad there was something available, but I always felt there should be something…else.

Now there is.  Plus-size clothing is beginning to come with some shape to it that flatters bigger curves.

Previously, I shopped mostly at Hamrick’s and JC Penney.  To my delight, I have found that there are way more options now in both brick-and-mortar stores and online.  Now that the fashion industry is changing, I am  starting to find my way to my true style.  And it’s exciting!  As my journey continues, I’ll happily share what I learn.

This last one, is a recent photo.  It’s one of my favorites of me and my niece, Chicka.
