Cato Plus Size Fashions

Song that inspired the title:  Stars and Stripes Forever – John Philip Sousa

It’s beginning to feel like summer in the South.  That means we are entering Hurricane season and the air is getting a bit muggy.

This weekend, we’ve been on the lookout for “Bonnie” traveling up the coast.  So far, we got a few pretty good rain showers, but otherwise, nothing out of the ordinary.  That’s not always the case.  Many of us still remember the devastation caused when Hugo hit Charleston. There’s a painting of waves hitting the Charleston Battery that comes to mind anytime I even hear the name Hugo (see it here).

When The Dane and I were dating, I remember telling him that one of my favorite things to do as a kid was to put on my raincoat and run around outside when it rained.  He looked at me kind of quizzically for a moment and then said, “To a kid from Milwaukee, that’s a foreign concept.”  I said, “You don’t think it’s fun to run around in the warm rain, catching drops on your tongue?”  He said, “No, that sounds like a pleasant idea.  However, in Milwaukee, there’s no such thing as a warm rain.”  That’s fair, because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a snowblower around these parts.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day!
