Happy Easter 2016 – A Review of Dressbarn Fit and Flare Dress

He is Risen! Alleluia!

For a couple of years now, I’ve bought some of my favorite clothes as a particular store.  When I say the name, most people say…”I thought they sold frumpy fat girl clothes” or “I’ve never been there, I mean couldn’t they come up with a better name than that?”  If you thought, Dressbarn, then you’d be right.  Yeah, I know, Moo.

In all seriousness, the store has revamped in the last few years.  This year, they even have an Ashley Graham line called Beyond. I used to shy away from dresses, as I have a hard time finding ones that flatter.  Being short and with a short torso, “normal” dresses, even plus-size, look horrible on me.  Last year, Dressbarn came out with a line of Fit & Flare and A-line dresses that changed my world.  Hello perfect dress!

This purple floral, I bought on-sale last year (along with a few others that were so cute that I couldn’t pass them up).  I hadn’t worn this one till this year because I wanted to find the right sweater to go with it.  Originally, I had a white one, but that seemed to water the dress down and I wanted something to make it pop.  I found this lavender cardigan at Maurice’s.  I love the fit of this dress and I believe it is the most flattering dress I have ever worn.

When I was young, my mother had a pair of white sandals that I really liked.  From time to time, I’ve looked for some similar to what she had.  When I saw these Coach sandals, they made me think of Mom’s.  I’ve read several reviews that these run narrow or that they hurt between the toe.  My experience is that they fit well and are the most comfortable between-the-toe sandals I’ve ever owned.  Plus they come in lots of colors.  Here are a few places to look (black, black/saddle, bright silver, carmine, chalk (the color I’m wearing), chalk snake, navy, platinum, and saddle here; yellow, azure, saddle and carmine here; chalk/mink grey, flint, natural, and black here).

I added this Anne Klein (similar here) tote and my costume pearls to finish off my Easter look.

Easter inspirational song here.
