Golden Thread – Passenger

When The Dane buys outfits for me, he does what he calls “mannequin” shopping.  In other words, he sees something on the mannequin that looks well put together and he buys that outfit.

It’s interesting, because until he told me that he did this, I never once thought about it.  I never thought about putting my outfits together based on what someone in the store suggested.

I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.  Now that he’s told me about this, I pay more attention to the mannequins and sure enough, they always look well-styled.

For this outfit, I thought I’d do my version of this and copy Lane Bryant’s model to see how it went.

My first thought was OMG, I don’t have to think about how to put this together.  Here’s the sweater – check.  Here’s the shirt and similar jeans – check.  Very similar shoes – check.  Then tada, the whole outfit was done.  I’m loving The Dane’s idea very much!  Well, maybe not always, but I did with this outfit.

I wasn’t quite sure about this sweater before it arrived.  It was kind of dark in the ad, but I have a skirt that I was thinking about wearing this with, so I ordered it on Black Friday.  What I didn’t realize when I ordered it was that it was going to have this amazing gold thread that runs through it giving the whole thing an amazing sparkle.  It also has a versatile quality to it and would look great dressed up and definitely does paired with this otherwise very basic casual look.  I really do love this sweater and can’t wait to figure out other ways to wear it – you know, aside from the look I stole from the “mannequin.”

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
